Who we are
An African innovation ecosystem, from research to the hospital
Active since 2017 in Yaoundé, AUI Group designs, manufactures and deploys locally equipment adapted to African realities: unstable power, high import costs and the absence of nearby maintenance.
Our history
2016 — 2026: from intuition to deployment
In 2016, at Yaoundé Central Hospital, Mrs Nkimih lost her five premature babies for want of a working incubator. That tragedy is the origin of the project that became the MAWOUO incubator.
Creation of the Agence Universitaire pour l'Innovation (AUI), a non-profit association linking research, talent and social needs.
Connected solar incubator designed at the University of Dschang. Head of State Special Prize for research and innovation.
Creation of AUI TECHNO, the Group's first commercial company. Filing of the "AUI 1.0 Interactive Neonatal Incubator" patent (PV no. 1202000121, 20-year protection). AFD Digital Challenge and Orange Social Entrepreneur Prize (POESAM).
Creation of AUI Brand & Corporate SAS, dedicated to the commercial development of neonatal care. Technological response to the COVID-19 pandemic (mobile fumigator, disinfection gateway).
Industrialisation, institutional orders, deployments across eight countries and the roll-out of local after-sales service.
FADEV takes equity in AUI Brand & Corporate (shareholding plus shareholder loan). Transfer of the MAWOUO business from AUI TECHNO to AUI Brand & Corporate. Present at VivaTech Paris.
Expansion of the equipment range and 2nd edition of the "Every Breath Counts" campaign in Douala.

Expansion into two new African markets and entry into the WHO and UNICEF supplier catalogues.

350 units per year
Annual production of at least 350 neonatal care devices at the Yaoundé technical workshop.

10 African countries
Presence in ten countries and 500,000 premature babies supported since the project began.
Approvals under negotiation: Democratic Republic of the Congo (identified need for 800 incubators), Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Nigeria.
